Virgin Media was born

2007. They have now become of the largest home entertainment
and communications companies in the
UK. Virgin Media offer a comprehensive choice of services
and enable you to bundle a variety of services including
broadband, TV, talk, line rental and mobile phone.
Virgin Media is now the largest Virgin company in the world

Broadband, Phone and Mobile - all from one place. Their service
is very highly acclaimed and has received many industry coveted
awards. In 2008 Virgin Media received the Readers Digest award
for most trusted ISP (internet service provider) and in 2007
they received the award for most popular ISP by PC
advisor.
Virgin Media offer Cable
Broadband Services (up to a blistering 50Mb broadband)
to people in the areas where NTL and Telewest existed with quad
play bundles including Broadband, TV, Phone and Mobile for just
£42 per month. Currently there is approximately 55% coverage of
the UK. They also have a non-cable Broadband offering
delivering standard broadband to much of the rest of the
UK.
The cable services are
now delivered largely by Fibre Optic which dramatically
increases the speed of the broadband internet connection.
People say once you go fibre you will never go back. The only
downside is that Virgin Media’s fibre optic broadband internet
service is not available to the whole of the UK. It is only
available where Virgin have their infrastructure
laid.
Fiber-optic communication
is a method of transmitting information from one place to
another by sending pulses of light through an optical fiber.
The light forms an electromagnetic carrier wave that is
modulated to carry information.
The process of
communicating using fiber-optics involves the following basic
steps: Creating the optical signal involving the use a
transmitter, relaying the signal along the fiber, ensuring that
the signal does not become too distorted or weak, receiving the
optical signal, and converting it into an electrical
signal.
Demand for ultra fast
broadband connection speeds such as the 50Mb Virgin Media
offering is expected to rise dramatically in the coming future.
With a huge increase in content rich high media internet
browsing consumers are demanding faster speeds. Virgin Media
will certainly lead the way to help fulfilling these insatiable
appetites.
Virgin Media are
instantly recognisable due to their aggressive marketing
campaigns. 2008 saw the launch if their “Hate to Wait” and “Mix
it up TV” campaigns which were a huge success. Their TV
advertising regularly feature top world wide celebrities like
Samuel L Jackson.
Virgin Media’s digital TV
service is heavily promoted as a service that gives customers
control of what they watch. They have a vast library of on
demand programmed and film meaning their customer can basically
watch whatever they like whenever they like. No more being
dictated by the TV content providers. How often have you said
